In accordance with its medical assistance programs, MSA established the Global Medical Support Program to meet identified healthcare needs, by providing previously unattainable medical goods to the underserved. In many developing countries of the world, essential medicines are not readily available to help treat individuals with disease. Through this program, MSA has brought better health and wellness to thousands of sick and needy patients.

As an integral part of its Global Medical Support Program, MSA initiated the Pediatric Intestinal Worm Eradication Program in an effort to control chronic helminth and parasitic infections that debilitate millions of children in Latin America and other parts of the developing world. In many developing world countries, chronic intestinal worm infections during childhood have serious and negative effects on growth, nutrition and school performance. Parasitic and intestinal worm infections increase childhood suffering and are directly linked to malnutrition and anemia. Left untreated, they can increase the likelihood of bladder cancer in some patients.

The Pediatric Intestinal Worm Eradication Program is making a difference in countries like: El Salvador, Sri Lanka, Nicaragua, Kyrgyz Republic, and Paraguay. This MSA program has positively treated or prevented parasitic and intestinal worm infections in tens of thousands of children throughout these countries. The MSA secured medicines were distributed in the above counties with the assistance of government agencies, foundations, schools, community health centers, orphanages, and rural clinics. Recipients of these donated medicines are charged no fees for the medicines.
