The Medical Support Association welcomes you to our new website. We
have updated the site to make it more userfriendly and to better present
our programs that are making a difference in the lives of children with
cancer.
When a child gets cancer, the whole family gets cancer. Families want desperately to alleviate the pain because
nothing is more tragic than a child's suffering. The chronic fatigue, hair loss, physical pain, anemia, and loss of appetite
are just some of the awful side effects that children with cancer must endure. Parents need to know the facts about
pediatric cancer, and how to help children cope with the pain and symptoms of their illness, as well as the side-effects
from medication.
Our programs make a real difference in the lives of childhood cancer patients. This devastating disease must be attacked on all fronts if we are going to make a real difference in this battle. MSA has established educational, research, and medical assistance programs in order to best assist the victim's immediate needs and offer hope for the future. Our educational programs focus primarily on providing early detection and prevention literature to American families in an effort to ensure that pediatric cancer is caught at its earliest stages and preventative measures are taught in all homes.
The stark reality is that the treatment of childhood cancers can be quite expensive. All too often, the families of these
patients do not have the financial means nor the medical insurance necessary to provide for their child's required
treatments. In an effort to help, MSA instituted its Children's
Cancer and Leukemia Relief Fund program to provide
chemotherapies and other essential medical goods to needy pediatric cancer patients in the United States and around
the world. Over the years, MSA has donated leukemia and cancer medicines to thousands of patients with cancer and
other serious diseases. We are proud to be helping to save precious lives.
By supporting cancer research, we are supporting the patient. With a focus on scientific inquiry, the
cures for pediatric cancers will someday become a reality. MSA is also committed to helping to unlock the myriad of
diseases that is cancer. Our Children's Cancer Research
Coalition program aims to ensure that leading pediatric
cancer research programs have the necessary resources to make new treatment breakthroughs. We have a special
commitment to support the advancement of pediatric clinical trials taking place at designated Comprehensive Cancer
Centers around the United States.
Each year, we continue to positively affect more and more individuals in the United States and around the world that are
affected by childhood cancers. From all of us at the Medical Support Association, thank you for your support and
generous gift of hope.
With deepest gratitude,
Field P. Long
